Day VII : One Hit Wonders
One Hit Wonders is the game for Day VII made in RPG Maker 2000
Approx development time: ~2 hours.
Approx playtime: 3 - 45 minutes.
A small, heavily RNG influenced level arena type turn-based fighter where all combatants - both ally and enemy only have a single measly digit of HP.
Will you curse your lot with such meager resources at your disposal or do you go on an epic streak of Godlike RNG favor and emerge victorious against all odds?
My P.B. streak is level 34, can you beat it? (Game is won at level 99!)

This is like some kind of strange rm2k gambling game. I could seriously see people laying bets on an ‘automated’ version of this… What an odd idea you had!
Missed exactly one attack, on level 48 - with one party member and one enemy left, then went first on next turn and continued. Then all good outcomes till 55, when 3 enemies all went first, killed 3 characters, and then one went first in the 2nd turn- game over.
I still had lots of resources left, too.
Great job on level 55 - I believe that's the record so far, unless anyone else wants to chime in on the comments...
In theory, the game goes up to level 100 but personally I got nowhere near that and the RNG favor would have to be super karmic to carry one that far.
It's a simple concept but in practice it works really well and has a surprising depth of strategy. The RNG is a massive influence though. I got like 8 byes in a row then 2 of my full party missed their attack and it quickly fell apart in the space of a single battle. Got to level 29.
Yes, the game is essentially an RNG simulator if you strip everything away.
I just had a raw idea in my head and formed the concept around it then framed it with some gameplay. Happy you liked it though :)
